Phoenix offers one of the largest ranges of inspection systems on the market for testing PWR and other nuclear plant.
APSIS
The Automatic Pressuriser Surge Line Inspection System was specifically designed for use on PWRs. It allows the inspection of transition, austenitic and thermal sleeve welds on the pressuriser surge line and the surge line to primary loop welds using conventional and TOFD techniques.
APSIS can be assembled and dismantled in under 12 minutes and can operate unattended, thus limiting operators’ exposure to radiation.
For more information on the APSIS please contact our sales department.
CHIM – Channel Head Inspection Manipulator
The Phoenix Channel Head tube plate scanner, CHIM, allows the inspection of this critical weld in the normally inaccessible area behind the steam generator support legs.
- Low profile
- Modular
- Unattended operation
- Rapid Setup
For more information on CHIM please contact our sales department.
PRIME – Primary Circuit
For Steam Generator hot & cold leg inspection including transition, pipe to pipe and elbow welds the PRIME manipulator offers:
- Low profile 70mm clearance
- Unique umbilical cassette for unattended operation
- Mounting on pipe or elbow
For more information on PRIME please contact our sales department.
SAGE SCANNERS – Two Axis Motorised Pipe Scanner
The SAGE range of pipe weld inspection manipulators were designed for the automatic ultrasonic inspection of pipe and nozzle welds.
They include the manipulator, mounting ring, circumferential and axial drive mechanics, transducer holders, all cabling and couplant service
including a 12 metre umbilical.
  SIM
Designed for the inspection of vessel studs and fixing bolts without removing them, the Stud Inspection Manipulator passes the probe head down the central heating hole.
It carries six probes (pulse echo and TOFD), provides a full length scan of the bolt and can perform a helical scan or raster scan. Set-up is less than 10 minutes per bolt.
SWIS – Set in (Nozzle) Weld Inspection System
Many of the more experienced in the practice of ultrasonic inspection appreciate the difficulties associated with the inspection of nozzle saddle welds.
The Saddle Weld Inspection System (SWIS) simulates the manual operator’s dexterity in rotating the probe whilst scanning around a nozzle.
For more information on SWIS please contact our sales department.
