Turbine and Generator Scanners Print E-mail

Phoenix offers a complete range of equipment for the inspection of turbines and generators. Ingenious designs offer operators dramatic savings by minimising disruption and allowing inspections on plant in service.

Tsis MDH and Prism

TSIS MDH and PRISM

Following the success of the Tsis manual, Phoenix has produced a lightweight inspection head which, when operated in conjunction with the Prism, has all the attributes of the fully automatic system while being less expensive and more easily deployed.

This automated boresonic is designed to provide axial and rotary movement of the standard Phoenix inspection heads, the Tsis and Tsis MDH. The Prism is bolted to the end of the shaft and coupled to the inspection head system will control heads in bores up to 300mm diameter and 14m long.get datasheet

Perm

PERM

The Phoenix End Ring Manipulator (Perm) enables operators to scan 100% of the external surface of generator end rings without removing the rotor from the stator. It can be fixed in position by two men in less than one hour and is capable of inspecting a large range of modern generator end rings, including those with tapers at one or both ends.

 SIM

SIM_a

sim_1 Designed for the inspection of vessel studs and fixing bolts without removing them, the Stud Inspection Manipulator passes the probe head down the central heating hole.

It carries six probes (pulse echo and TOFD), provides a full length scan of the bolt and can perform a helical scan or raster scan. Set-up is less than 10 minutes per bolt.

TRIMTrim

The Turbine Rotor Inspection Manipulator (Trim) has been specifically designed for the ultrasonic testing of turbine discs. Twin carbon fibre telescopic arms working separately or together carry a series of interchangeable probe pans to scan disc shoulders, disc flank with skew, disc neck, blade fixing flank, toroidal flanks and radii and disc periphery.
